Autumn Recipe
A simple recipe to kick off autumn with the return of apples and pears. I present to you a light dessert, flavored with cinnamon. The toasted sliced almonds add crunch to this recipe. 🍎
For the toasted sliced almonds, I followed the tips I discovered on Catarina Costa’s website, « A Prendre Sans Faim ».
Prep Time : 20 min
Cook Time : 15 min
Ingredients
- 7 oz (200 g) apples
- 7 oz (200 g) pears
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of liquid honey
- A few sliced almonds
Step 1: Fruit Preparation
- Sprinkle just a small handful of sliced almonds in a pan to prevent them from overlapping. Toast them dry over medium heat. Then transfer them to a large flat plate to cool.
- Peel the apples and pears.
- Cut them into small pieces in a bowl.
- Add a teaspoon of cinnamon and a tablespoon of liquid honey, then mix the fruit pieces.
Step 2: Cooking
- Divide the apple-pear mixture into 4 small ramekins. Cover each ramekin with aluminum foil.
- Place the ramekins in the steamer basket of your pressure cooker.
- Cook for 15 minutes once the pressure cooker whistles.
- Before serving, sprinkle each ramekin with the toasted sliced almonds.
Serve warm for the best experience !
Gisou’s Tips and Tricks
- Feel free to fill the ramekins well before placing them in the steamer basket, as the fruits tend to shrink a bit at the end of cooking.
- There is very little added sugar in this recipe (just a tablespoon of honey), as the fruits are already quite sweet.
- You can replace sliced almonds with crushed nuts.
- Both pears and apples are rich in fiber and antioxidants, making this dessert a nutritious choice.
Cooking in steam mode in the pressure cooker allows you to enjoy the nutritional qualities of the fruits.
