Recipe for Valentine’s Day
A Delightful Valentine’s Day Treat for You and Your Special Someone! 💘
Ingredients
- 1 cup (130 g) white spelt flour or all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup ~ (50 g) brown sugarÂ
- 2 tablespoons ~ (30 ml) grapeseed oilÂ
- 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp ~ (70 g) hazelnut butter
- 1 tablespoon (20 ml) water
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1.5 oz (40 g) semi-sweet chocolateÂ
Step 1 : The Cookies
- In a mixing bowl, combine the hazelnut butter, grape seed oil, and water.
Add the egg, sugar, baking powder, and flour. Mix well. - Form a dough ball and let it rest for about 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 310 degrees Fahrenheit (160 degrees Celsius).
- Roll out the dough gently on a lightly floured surface using a rolling pin. Feel free to add a bit more flour if the dough is too sticky.
- Cut out heart-shaped cookies using a cookie cutter.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 2 : Baking
Bake the cookies on the third rack, in a preheated oven at 310 degrees Fahrenheit (160 degrees Celsius) with convection setting, for 20 minutes.
Allow the cookies to cool completely before moving on to step 3.
Step 3 : Chocolate Coating
- Melt 1.5 oz (40 g) of semi-sweet chocolate using a double boiler.
- Dip one side of each heart-shaped cookie into the melted chocolate, gently turning it to coat both sides.
- Use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly and place the coated cookies on a wire rack.
- For an extra touch, decorate the cookies with small sugar hearts.
Allow the chocolate topping to solidify for at least 3 hours.

- The chocolate will harden as it cools. In February, temperatures are usually cool enough, so refrigeration is not necessary. Just store the cookies in the coolest room of your house.
- The 40g of chocolate should be sufficient to cover about a dozen cookies.
