Easter Recipe
While reading a cookie recipe on the “Femme Actuelle” website, I felt inspired to make these little carrot-shaped Easter bunnies. 🐰
My daughter actively participated in making these adorable cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (140 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 carrot
- 1/5 cups ~1.8 oz (50 g) softened butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup (50 g) cane sugar
- 1 tsp (2 g) ground cinnamom
- 1/2 tsp (3 g) baking powder
Step 1 : The Bunny Template
Choose and print a simple bunny drawing from the “coloriage-facile-lapin-fille” website.
Cut out the drawing and glue it onto a cardboard support. Then, carefully cut along the bunny’s outline.
Step 2 : The Dough
- Peel and finely grate the carrot.
- In a bowl, mix the egg and sugar using a fork.
- Add the softened butter, grated carrot, cinnamon, flour, and baking powder. Knead until you obtain a homogeneous dough. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky.
Step 3 : Dough resting
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
- Place it in the refrigerator for 4 hours.
Step 4 : Shaping the bunny cookies and baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough.
- Place the bunny template on the dough and cut around it using a plastic knife. Repeat the process to make as many bunny cookies as the dough allows.
- Carefully transfer the bunny cookies to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper .
- Decorate them with small candies for the eyes and nose.
- Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius), convection heat on the second level.
These bunny cookies are best enjoyed cold to maintain their crispiness!
Gisou’s Tips and Tricks
The given ingredient quantities allowed me to make approximately 9 bunny cookies, depending on the chosen template from the “tête à modeler” website.
